This salad is 33 grams of protein and 30 g of healthy good for you fat. This simple steak salad recipe is one serving. If you need to prepare more for meal prepping or to serve your family, simply double or triple the ingredients as needed.
Steak Salad
Servings: 1 serving
Ingredients
- 6 oz grass fed steak ribeye, sirloin or flank steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
- 1-2 cups organic mixed greens romaine, arugula, spinach
- 1/2 avocado sliced
- 1/4 red onion thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes sliced in half
- 1/4 cucumber sliced
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Season boths sides of steak with salt and pepper.
- Add steak to the hot pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- After cooking, remove steak from the pan, let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- While steak is resting, prepare the salad. To a serving bowl, add greens, avocado slices, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions in in that order.
- Slice the steak into thin strips, against the grain to get maximum flavor and place it on top of the salad.
- Drizzle salad with balsamic vinegar.
