Easy Gluten Free Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups gluten free flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup grass fed butter
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened dairy free milk
  • 1 tbsp + 1/4 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450F.
  • Make the dairy free version of "buttermilk" by combining the non dairy milk with apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Let mixture sit for 10 minutes before using.
  • Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter, cut in butter until mixture is crumb-like texture. Add in "dairy free buttermilk" and mix with a fork.
  • Knead the dough in the same bowl, then spread out dough out on baking sheet (about 3/4" thick). Cut into squares.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes.
